SIHH 2018: Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates the expertise of its artisans

In 2018, Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture is proud to celebrate its 185th anniversary. The Grande Maison gives its Makers and their expertise centre stage at SIHH and draws parallels with other prestigious and captivating artisanal worlds: authentic Argentinian bootmakers Casa Fagliano, coachbuilders; and will highlight the work of filmmakers in the context of the Shanghai and Venice International Film Festivals.

Starting from SIHH 2018, Jaeger-LeCoultre welcomes internationally renowned actor Benedict Cumberbatch as a brand ambassador. He embodies the elegant and active man of today with his integrity as an actor, a family man and someone who dedicates himself with energy to charitable endeavors. Benedict Cumberbatch visited Jaeger-LeCoultre at SIHH to discover the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris men’s line and to exchange with the Maison’s Deputy CEO Geoffroy Lefebvre. “Being a great watchmaking enthusiast I am delighted to be associated with such an outstanding watch manufacture as Jaeger-LeCoultre”, Benedict said.

His character wears a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual engraved watch (with a romantic engraving that forms a part of the plotline), in his movie 'Dr Strange'.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture

We were born in La Vallée de Joux in the Swiss mountains in 1833.

Since day one, each watch, from the calibre to the case, is designed, made and assembled in our Manufacture by our master watchmakers. It demands inventiveness, determination, hard work and courage. How long it takes is irrelevant. What matters is how long it will last. This is the maker spirit.
